Poll: Florida's 13th Congressional District Dead Even.
Republican incumbent Anna Paulina Luna and Democratic challenger Whitney Fox are tied in our latest poll, conducted by St. Pete Polls.
In good news for Democrats, Democratic challenger Whitney Fox is in a dead even race with Republican incumbent Anna Paulina Luna in Florida’s 13th Congressional District. In our recent poll, conducted by St. Pete Polls, both Fox and Luna have 45.9%, with 8.2% undecided.
This district, which was drawn specifically to have a Republican represent Pinellas by excluding most of St. Petersburg, would deal the Republicans a major blow if Fox were to prevail, and would be an early sign on Election Night that Democrats could have a strong night nationwide.
Fox has strong support from Democrats, but is also winning 15% of Republicans. Independents are also favoring Fox 48% to 41%, a trend that is common in Florida politics. When it comes to the gender gap, both are quite even, which is not a surprise in Pinellas County politics. The same with an overwhelming number of voters indicating that they plan to vote by mail.
As far as the presidential race in the district, Kamala Harris is up on Donald Trump 49.5% to 46.6% in the district. Harris is also winning a significant chunk of Republican voters, at 16%, and beating Trump with independents by 11%.
Another thing is Harris's number. The is R+6 district and she's outperforms Fox. That wasn't expected either for me
Honestly, it should already be playing out. The fact that Whitney is holding her own right now while Luna is literally doing campaign events for FEMA case work. I'm surprised. I honestly expected Luna to be up 2 or 3 in this poll
